'Requiem for Huge Oaks' 1994 Site Specific Installation and Photographic Documentation
I received an NEA Rockefeller Foundation grant to document the destruction of a grove of 400 year old oak trees in Texas as Highway Department expansion prompted a contentious local reaction. The oak tree used in this installation had a 26 Ft. diameter and was bulldozed to comply with highway department regulations.
Photographs of the installation and site were mounted on used automotive windshields, capturing the manner in which the landscape is currently experienced.
