Biotechnology Center Project 2009 Finalist Proposal Architectural Art Glass

My Concept is fully integrated into the architecture and the social spaces of this Biotechnology facility. It brings light, color, and unique imagery to directly reference the essence of this research in a visual, non verbal universal language.

For this Project, I wanted to encourage the researchers to dream, because it's from their dreams, their intuition, that potentially life-enhancing breakthroughs could come. My inspiration for this design was to evoke a reaction that indirectly inspires a new discovery.

This concept echoes the research process without representing it literally. It creates an atmospheric environment using imagery that supports the conditions for ideas to flourish. My concept inhabits the architecture, and goes beyond merely occupying it. This design would be remembered as if we have moved into the imagery…which in fact, we can. It taps into something deeper, bringing the building alive.
